The workshops are very relaxed and informal - the babies make sure of that! The sessions are led by Founder and Director Catrin Kemp alongside a co-lead (see the About page for more details). For the in-person workshops, everyone will be provided with pens and a notebook; we will provide writing prompts, share writings on motherhood and sometimes show clips from film and TV.

Who are the workshops aimed at?

The in-person workshops are aimed at all mothers in Glasgow with a baby under a year old.

The online workshops are currently aimed at all mothers with a baby under 18 months.

If you're interested in any aspect of creative writing or exploring your new role as a mother, this group is for you.

Where will the workshops take place?

The online workshops will take place via Zoom on Tuesday mornings 10am - 11.30am.23rd April - 14th May & 28th May - 18th June 2024.

Venues for the in-person workshops will be in Glasgow - exact location TBC.

I hate reading out loud! Will I have to?

Don't worry, no one has to read anything out loud or share any of their writing unless they want to. By week 8 of the course all those who have taken part (so far) have shared their writing, and this is something we practice in person and via a closed WhatsApp group, throughout each course.

What if I need to change my baby's nappy?

Please respond to your baby as and when they need you. At the in-person workshops we provide a changing area.

I have access needs - can I still apply?

Yes. Please state what your access needs are in the 'register your interest' form here

I speak English but would prefer to write in another language - is that OK?

Yes! The workshops are led in English, with any texts provided also in English, but you are welcome to write in another language. If you require an interpreter, please state this when you register your interest here

Do I need to be a 'new' mum? I have older children as well as a baby.

No, please do apply, although we will prioritise spaces for those who have recently had their first child.

When will I find out if I've got a place?

We will let everyone know at least 4 weeks ahead of each new group starting.

Can I feed my baby there?

Yes, you're welcome to feed your baby. Hot water can be provided as needed.

Is there parking nearby?

From 2024 we will aim to use venues which are accessible by public transport and have free parking.

Can I bring my buggy?

From 2024 we will aim to use venues which have plenty of room for buggies and car seats.
